Politecnico strengthens its partnership with the company Rosneft, the main public company of the Russian oil sector, signing a research and development contract.
The contract was signed by Vice President for informatisation, innovation and localisation of Rosneft Andrey Shishkin and the Rector of Politecnico di Torino Guido Saracco. The contract was signed during the 24th edition of SPIEF - St. Petersburg International Economic Forum - the international economic summit that brings together the CEOs of important Russian and international companies, representatives of banks and financial organizations, Heads of State and political leaders in a series of meetings and discussions on the evolution of the global economy.
The research project is among the results of the Research and Technology Cooperation Agreement (RTCA) signed in 2018 between Rosneft and Politecnico di Torino with the aim of promoting cooperation in the field of higher education, technology and innovation.
In the future, the partnership will be characterized by the joint implementation of research projects in the field of the Quantum mechanics, of the deposit modeling, of Big Data and of the intellectual property.

Within this background, strengthening the partnership with Rosneft, one of the top players of the world oil sector, confirms the key role of our Institution in the international scenario within an extremely interesting sector for the whole local system, the City of Turin and the Piedmont Region as well. Moreover, it fully comply with the strategy of a further strengthening of the cooperation with the entrepreneurial Italian system which can be performed abroad by our Institution”, by the Rector of the Politecnico Guido Saracco.
