A ceremony to exchange agreements - already signed in 2021 - on academic cooperation related to the Italy-Azerbaijan University, which will be based in Baku, hosted on the campus of ADA University, was held on September 1 in Rome at the new headquarters of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Italy. The ceremony was also attended by a delegation from the Politecnico, headed by Rector Guido Saracco.
The purpose of Italy-Azerbaijan University is to contribute to the growth aspirations of Azerbaijan by innovating while being rooted at its authentic cultural identity and traditions by deploying know how of Made in Italy.
The program portfolio intends to build management capacity and manpower in strategic sectors and high demand areas. To establish programs, ADA will benefit from outstanding expertise of the leading Italian universities, namely, the Politecnico in engineering, including engineering of sustainable energy.
The academic programs will be complemented with technology labs, fabrication hall, design center, business incubator and “bazaar” as a strong link to industry and Italy. This university is envisioned to be a transfer hub of knowledge, research, technology, and innovation between these two countries.
The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, opened the event, which was attended for the occasion by the Rector of ADA University, Hafiz Pashayev, as well as the heads of the other Italian universities involved: namely Vice President of Luiss Guido Carli University Paola Severino, Rector of Sapienza University of Rome Antonella Polimeni, Executive Vice Rector of Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna Simona Tondelli and the Director of the Design Department of the Politecnico di Milano Alessandro Deserti were present.
