Online seminar for welcoming new Chinese students to PoliTO and Chinese Alumni reunion

On 10 Oct. 2021, from 11:00 to 13:30 CET, two parallel seminars were hosted for welcoming the new Chinese students to Politecnico di Torino and the reunion of the Chinese Alumni. The seminars were organized with the synergic work from PoliTO, the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA. PoliTO) and PoliTO Chinese Alumni Association (PCAA).

For the new Chinese students’ seminar, professor Carla Chiasserini, on behalf of Politecnico di Torino, congratulated and welcomed all the new incoming students from China to join the big family of PoliTO. A brief introduction of PoliTO in terms of its history, the teaching and researching as well as the internationalization environment have been given during the speech of prof. Chiasserini. Besides, she also invited all the students online to participate to the events of the PoliTO Alumni in November. More importantly, she offered the kind helps to all the students if they have encountered any problems during the study in PoliTO. A group of core members from the CSAA.PoliTO, with its president Pan Zuoke, introduced in detail many useful information to the new students concerning their study and life in Italy, covering from safety, anti-fraud, to entertainment, mobile apps, etc, as well as official information on the COVID-19 and the organization of lectures and exams. They also answered questions from the participants at the end of the seminar.  

For the Chinese Alumni reunion seminar, around 25 core members of the PCAA from Turin, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, Nanjing, Harbin gathered together either physically or remotely to discuss the development and following events for the PCAA. During the reunion, PCAA also connected to the new student seminar. The president of the PCAA, Dr. Francesco Polistena as well as other key roles in the PCAA, such as Dr. Zhixia Xi, prof. Yu Zhang, etc., introduced the PCAA and gave advice to the new coming students from their personal experiences.
